For renovation and restoration of the historic Carnegie Library building. Location- 502 N. Queen Street Palestine, Texas 75801 Rehabilitation of the historic 1914 Carnegie Library for use as a new library. Exterior work includes a new accessible parking space and accessible walk from the existing parking lot to the east. New concrete retaining walls are to be constructed. The building contains a basement and main level which total approximately 5,300sf. The building exterior is to include limited restoration under the jurisdiction of the Texas Historical Commission. The basement is to be rehabilitated and includes reconfiguring walls in about 800sf and includes new mechanical and electrical systems. A two-stop elevator is to be installed in the building. A Bid Bond in the amount equal to 5% of the base bid amount plus any alternates is required with bid submission. Bidders guarantee that all goods and services meet the requirements for the solicitation during the contract period.
