The City of El Cerrito seeks to contract for the maintenance of the City's urban forest including street and park tree planting, routine and emergency tree maintenance and removal work, including tree inventory maintenance, as well as for work that involves wildland fuels management and tree removal services including large tree removal, forest thinning, chipping, brush clearing, mastication, and mowing. The project areas may include sensitive habitats where work will be regulated for their protection. These sites are divided into 2 separate bundles (Bundle A and Bundle B), bidders may submit proposals for one or both bundles. Bundle A: Streets, Parks, and Facilities - approximately 8,000 cultivated trees located in the built environment as street, park and building landscape trees. Bundle B: Natural Areas - approximately 100 acres of open space comprised of native Oak woodlands, riparian woodlands, Eucalyptus groves and soft chaparral. The term of the agreement shall be extended for up to three (3) additional one (1) year terms with the extensions to commence upon the expiration of the initial term or any extended term unless the City notifies Contractor in writing at least thirty (30) days before the end of the initial term or any extended term of its intent to terminate the agreement at the conclusion of the initial term or any extension. The compensation and unit prices in the Contract may be adjusted each year after the initial 3-year term using the Consumer Price Index, All Urban Consumers, as published by the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics for the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward region (Series CUURS49BSA0 or equivalent).
