PROJECT BACKGROUND AND DESCRIPTION The Kankakee County Emergency Telephone System Board ("Agency") is seeking bids for the purchase and installation of hardware, software and implementation services for a turnkey fire station alerting system (the "System"). The Agency's primary goal is to reduce dispatch times through automation. Said automation should allow for digital voice dispatching of basic incident call information entered into a CAD system, sent with the minimal effort, and rapidly relay that information to the first responders; all without a telecommunicator having to manually transmit that initial alarm orally. The System shall comprise a dispatch center component for transmission, and a fire station component for receiving. The Agency will only be purchasing the dispatch center component. It will be the responsibility of each fire agency as to whether they want to participate through buy-in of the receiving equipment and associated ancillary components. The additional receiving equipment, to be located at individual fire stations, shall be included in the bid in a manner that itemizes the available components, pricing for components, and pricing corresponding with said equipment, installation, and anything else relevant to the receiving fire station's needs or wants. There are currently 35 fire/EMS stations/locations, complete or under construction/renovation, in the Agency system. The System shall interface with the Agency's existing New World Enterprise CAD, Version 2021.1, Tyler Technologies; the 800 MHz, trunked, digital two-way radio system; and the VHF fire department paging system.
