The City is seeking proposals from professional engineering design firms qualified and interested in providing engineering design services to the City on an "On-Call" basis for an initial period of approximately three years.The intent of the RFQ is to hire a Prime Consultant who is able to provide all of the engineering design services that would be required on a typical public works roadway project, whether they are capable of self-performing all such services or need to team up with sub-consultants in order to do so. The City is looking to hire 1 to 3 Prime Consultants on an On-Call basis that can provide any of the services required. The City is not looking to hire multiple consultants who specialize in different areas of consulting or design. Project Description: In general, the Scope of Work for each identified project to be completed under this RFQ generally includes, but will not be limited to, a pre-design geotechnical investigation with structural design recommendations for roadway projects, utility research, design surveying, applicable engineering reports, preparing plans, specifications and cost estimate (PS&E), preparation of a joint NEPA/CEQA environmental document, construction engineering support during bidding and construction (i.e., assistance with answering bidder's questions, possible review of submittals, assistance with RFIs, change orders, claims, etc.), geotechnical services during construction to include specialty inspections and materials testing services, construction surveying, attending project meetings as necessary, assistance with project closeout, other miscellaneous construction engineering activities, and any other professional engineering work related to the design of a typical public works roadway project. Engineering plans and specifications prepared for an identified project shall be complete and suitable for bidding. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
