DEPARTMENT REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS AND PROPOSAL FOR ON-CALL PROFESSIONAL BUILDING SERVICES Walla Walla County is seeking on-call professional services from qualified individuals or companies to assist the County with the review of building and fire permit applications and general code counseling. Walla Walla County is fully planning under the Washington State Growth Management Act and is governed by the State of Washington's adopted building codes, with specific additional requirements outlined in Walla Walla County Code Chapter 15.04.
The County will ask the consultant to provide the following services: Plan review of submitted building and fire permit applications to ensure compliance with adopted building code and amendments, local ordinances, and any state county or federal requirements. Must submit formal, written reports for plan reviews and re-reviews, and clearly document, with comments, the recommendation for approval or rejection. Assist the County in streamlining internal operations. Assist the County in code and policy development and interpretation, including the development of prescriptive standards. Ability to conduct on-site inspections of construction projects preferred. Staff training of Department employees as needed on building codes, permit review, etc. Communicate directly with applicants on assigned plan reviews and keep the County informed. Assist the County with development of informational materials for customers. All submittals and reports shall be provided electronically; ability to use Blue Beam Revu and County Central Square Community Development software preferred.
