Bidding and Contract Requirements Section 00100 - Advertisement for Bids The Desoto Consolidated S.D. #86 Board of Education, will receive bids for the Desoto Elementary School Classroom & Cafeteria Flooring Replacement work for Desoto Elementary School, De Soto, IL 62924. A. Work to be Bid: 1. Work to be covered by the bid shall include removal of existing asbestos containing floor tile and mastic as well as purchase and installation of new flooring systems, wall base, transitions strips, etc., and all associated work as described in the Construction Documents. B. Type of Contract: 1. Asbestos Contractor 2. General Contractor Bid security payable to the Owner in the amount of 5% of the total Bid, shall be executed by the Bidder in the form of certified check, bank draft, or acceptable surety. The successful bidder will be required to execute a Payment and Performance Bond. Contractor must pay all sums of money due or to become due for any labor in accordance with Illinois Wages of Employees of Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). Wages printed in the Project Manual are for the month of bidding only. Certified Payroll is required to be submitted with all Pay Applications. Successful bidders will be required to perform and provide criminal background checks on all contractors, subcontractors and their employees, agents, or assigns that will be employed on this project prior to commencement of work, at the Contractor's expense. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of Ninety (90) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Owner. Bidding Schedule: The Owner anticipates all work contemplated in the Construction Documents shall commence June 1, 2022 and be finally complete no later than August 1, 2022. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids in whole or in part or to waive any informalities in the bidding.
