Demolition and site work for a residential development in Bristol, Tennessee. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The addresses of these structures follow: 264 Norfolk Avenue, 1134 Vermont Avenue, 648 Norfolk (two non-residential structures) and 624 Moore Street*. *Notice is hereby given that the Section 106 review of the above-referenced property (624 Moore Street) and federal undertaking is underway. In accordance with procedures set forth in a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), the City, acting as Responsible Entity for HUD, has made a determination that the demolition of this structure will result in a finding of adverse effect as it is located within the Virginia Hill Historic District. These projects will involve the demolition of the structures and proper disposal of all debris. A listing of properties that contain asbestos will be provided and it shall be the responsibility of contractor to remove and dispose of the asbestos in an appropriate manner and furnish documentation of such. Utilities shall be properly terminated and site graded and seeded upon project completion. A $50 per day penalty will be applied against the contract bid amount for every day the job is not completed after its 30 days. Contractors interested in submitting bids for these projects must possess a minimum of a current Virginia Class "C" Building or Highway/Heavy Contractors License and a Bristol, Virginia Business License. A demolition permit is to be obtained from the Bristol, Virginia Building Official's Office prior to starting work. Successful bidder will be required to furnish proof of a minimum of $1,000,000 liability insurance, workers' compensation, and a performance bond. The City reserves the right to (1) reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding; and (2) to change or revise the work, with proper compensation to the contractor; and (3) negotiate with the lowest responsive and responsible bidder if the bid amount exceeds available funds. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of the bids without the consent of the Owner, except in accordance with the Code of Virginia, Section 11-54 Procedure (1). Nothing herein is intended to exclude any responsible bidder, his products or service, or in any way restrain or restrict competition. All responsible bidders are encouraged to bid and their bid is solicited. The City of Bristol is a Drug Free Workplace and an Equal Opportunity Employer.
