The Department is seeking competitive solicitations from vendors who can provide trash pickup and disposal services at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility (AVCF), located at 12750 Highway 96 and Lane 13 near Crowley, CO. AVCF houses about 1,080 inmates in a self-sufficient environment which includes a kitchen, warehouse, vocational and industry shops, as well as personnel to operate the facility. Proper and timely trash removal is essential to the management of the facility. It is the Departments expectation that the awarded bidder will supply all safety and personal protective equipment, as well as materials, tools, and consumables needed to complete the project with system optimization and job site cleanup. TERM: The initial award from this solicitation will be from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 with the option to renew up to four (4) additional one-year periods. The Vendor may request a price increase for any ensuing term, to be based on the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) All items category or other appropriate category of goods; or based upon the vendors demonstrated cost increases. Any price increase request is subject to acceptance, negotiation and/or denial by the Colorado Department of Corrections. Any request for price increases must be submitted to the Purchasing Office 30 days in advance of the requested effective date.
