Buddy Whitney Canal Drainage Improvements The Contractor Shall Hold a Louisiana Contractor's License in 1-IIGH1 Construction and/or Municipal and Public Works Construction Classification. The work consists of upgrading 680' of existing subsurface drainage in the Buddy Whitney Canal along School Street between Main Street and 4th Street in St. James Parish. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier check, or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid, and payable without condition to Owner as a guarantee that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute a Contract in accordance with his proposal and all terms and conditions of the Contract Documents. Bidders also have the option to submit bids electronically in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statue 38:2212 E(1). A cashier's or certified check will NOT be accepted. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The Contractor shall begin mobilization and procurement of materials within ten (10) working days of the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Any person with disabilities requiring special accommodations must contact the St. James Parish no later than seven (7) days prior to bid opening. The Parish reserves the right to reject any and all bids for just cause; such actions will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes. Bidders are made aware that this project may be funded in part by federal disaster recovery grants, whereby additional terms, conditions, and requirements may apply above and beyond those typically applicable to this classification of project. A template of additional terms and conditions is available with the Contract Documents referenced above. Additional terms and conditions will be negotiated with the successful bidder prior to award.
