As of July 29, 2022, projects has not yet been awarded as there has been a delay in the project to next year. No definite date was established at the moment. The San Mateo Resource Conservation District (SMRCD) welcomes contractors to bid on the Mindego Creek Fish Passage (Project) to restore fish passage to 5 miles of habitat in the San Gregorio Creek watershed. Project activities include removal of a fish migration barrier, channel restoration, and reconstruction of a diversion intake. The purpose of this request for bids is to select a contractor for the Project to conduct the following implementation activities: (1) removal of the existing 6-foot high concrete dam and Denil-style fish ladder; (2) restoration of approximately 310 linear feet of channel through installation of stream simulation material, rock slope protection, boulders, and log structures; and (3) reconstruction of the diversion intake within an instream pool and installation of a new fish screen on the intake pipe. Implementation of these measures will restore fish passage and improve habitat conditions for federally threatened steelhead trout and federally endangered coho salmon.
