Renovation of a military facility in New London, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a military facility.

The Contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor, materials, supervision and transportation necessary to install approximately 365 square yards (SY) of new hospitality grade carpet as identified in the Technical Exhibit. It's possible that a minimal amount of small furniture and interferences may have to be moved by the carpet contractor. GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY: This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC). 1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA): A. MANUFACTURER QUALIFICATIONS: The firm shall be experienced in manufacturing products or systems similar to those specified for this project herein and with a record of successful in-service performance, as well as sufficient production capacity to produce the required units. B. INSTALLER QUALIFICATIONS: The Contractor shall be an experienced installer who is certified by the Floor Covering Installation Board or who can demonstrate compliance with its certification program requirements. 1.3 QUALITY CONTROL (QC): A. INSPECTION: The Contractor shall make a request to the COR for an inspection to determine if all of the technical requirements of all carpet installation have been met. The COR may prepare a Punch List for items that do not meet the technical requirements. Items on the Punch List shall be corrected before the COR will notify the KO of project completion. B. CONTRACTOR'S WARRANTY: The Contractor shall warranty their installation workmanship for a period of one (1) year. All repair expenses shall be paid by the Contractor. The primary Contractor shall also be responsible for all Sub-Contractor work. C. RESPONSIBILITY: The Contractor shall be responsible for all project dimensions and areas. Repairs to Government property in the work area shall be the Contractor's responsibility if the Contractor damages it. PART 2 PRODUCTS (Not Used) PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 REPAIR AND PROTECTION: A. PROTECTION: Protect exposed and surrounding finishes and office items to prevent damage. B. PROJECT REPAIRS: Repair, remove and/or replace defective Contractor project work. Repairing includes replacing defective parts, refinishing damaged surfaces and touching up with matching materials. Where damaged or worn items cannot be repaired or restored, provide replacements. END OF SECTION 01 40 00 01 74 19 - PROJECT WASTE MANAGEMENT AND DISPOSAL PART 1 GENERAL 1.1 SUMMARY: This Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for the disposing of nonhazardous project waste. 1.2 PROJECT WASTE: All waste generated from the project shall become the property and the responsibility of the Contractor. 1.3 ACADEMY DUMPSTERS: Disposal in Academy dumpsters is prohibited unless there is an agreement with the COR and the Contractor. PART 2 PRODUCTS (Not Used) PART 3 EXECUTION 3.1 DISPOSAL OF WASTE: Except for items or materials to be salvaged, recycled, or otherwise reused; remove waste materials from the project site and legally dispose of them in a landfill. A. TRANSPORTING: Remove and transport debris in a manner that will prevent debris from falling or spilling onto adjacent areas, from the jobsite and/or roadways. NOTIFICATION OF START AND COMPLETION OF WORK: The Contractor shall not commence work until all materials are available to complete the project and upon notification to proceed from the Government. The Contractor shall make COR aware of any lead times. The Contractor is required to complete the entire project under this contract ready for use on the dates negotiated by the COR and Contractor. The awarded Contractor shall provide the Contract Officer with all necessary documentation requests prior to starting. Targeted period of performance is May 27, 2022 to the completion by July 01, 2022. Work schedule shall allow continued use of offices with minimal interference with staff operations. 3.2 HOUSEKEEPING: The Contractor shall clean up the work area after the end of each workday. The Contractor shall neatly vacuum all affected areas.
