Project Description: The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment to repair and install asphalt concrete (AC) pathways within Shoreline at Mountain View on Shoreline Golf Links. Repairs include: - Overlay of existing AC pathways; and - Overcoat pathway sealing of the entire golf course Overlay: Overlay and place new 3/8" fine asphalt at a finished thickness of two inches (2"); compact asphalt with a vibratory roller or whacker plate until maximum compaction is achieved; apply SS1-h heavy tack coat prior to placement of asphalt; provide smooth transitions between overlays and existing path; and bevel edges of replaced sections to eliminate depressions along edges. The Contractor must clean pavement surface and edges of dirt and organic material prior to heavy tack coat. Overlay must conform to existing pathway widths. Typical AC overlay for existing AC equal or more than nine feet (9') wide. Overlay Surface Preparation: Broom, power blowers, or similar device shall be used to clean surface of all dirt, sand, and other loose debris. Gas, grease, and oil spots shall be cleaned by scrapers and/or suitable detergents. Remove all vegetation from cracks, curbs, and gutters and apply an appropriate weed killer. Remove and replace damaged asphalt using "Hot-Mix" asphalt concrete. On surfacesthat are excessively rough or dusted, a prime coat consisting of one part SS-1H and four parts water shall be applied at a rate of 0.05 to 0.10 gallon per square yard. . Overcoat Sealing: Overcoat sealing shall be OverKote by or equivalent, and installed according to manufacturer's specifications to create a smooth surface. One coat shall be applied. If an equivalent product is used, it must first be approved by the City. The coating should leave the pathway surfaces smooth and uniform. Overcoat sealing work may be inspected and tested by the City Inspector at any time to assure that the sealing is being properly installed according to the specifications listed in this document
