All formal (written) questions must be received by 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 The proposed work will include pavement milling and surface preparation, pavement restoration, concrete sidewalks, a pavement wearing course overlay, along with a two (2) color acrylic topcoat. The project will also include the removal and replacement of the existing tennis net posts and bases along with the final restoration of the site. All work is anticipated to commence after the close of the school year in June of 2022 and all work shall be completed prior to the start of the school year in August of 2022. All bids will be reviewed at the June 7, 2022 school board work session meeting and it is anticipated that the project will awarded at the Palmerton Area School Board Meeting on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. An acceptable surety company is any one included in the latest issue of the U.S. Treasury Department Circular 570 listings and approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance to do business in Pennsylvania. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this Project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin. The Successful Bidder will be required to provide the Palmerton Area School District with the following clearances for all workers, employees, and/or sub-contractors who will be preforming services on this site in the School District: Act 34, Act 151, as amended, and FBI background checks. The Palmerton Area School District reserves the right to reject all or any Bids or parts thereof, and waive technicalities as it deems best in the interest of the School District. Additionally, all unit price and total cost amounts must be completed on the bid sheets to be considered a complete bid. Bids may be held by the Palmerton Area School District for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of the Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. All bids must be in a sealed envelope marked "A Proposed Tennis Court Reconstruction Project at the Palmerton Area Jr. / Sr. High School".
