Renovation of a municipal facility in Bunnell, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Upon review of the RFP documents, proposers may have questions to clarify or interpret the RFP in order to submit the best response possible. To accommodate the proposal questions process, Proposers shall submit any such questions by 12:00 PM ESDT on September 5, 2023. Written questions shall be mailed or e-mailed to Kristen Bates, City Clerk. P.O. Box 756, Bunnell, FL 32110, email: kbates@bunnellcity.us by the date and time specified above. Proposers will enter "RFP'# 2023-01 REBID - Questions" as the subject for the email. Questions submittals will include a reference to the applicable RFP section. This project is sponsored in part by the Department of State, Division of Historical Resources and the State of Florida and is required to be complete by June 30, 2024. Bidders are preferred to have successfully completed a minimum of three (3) successful historic restoration projects in compliance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Historic Restoration of a similar scope and complexity within the past 10 years. Bidders shall complete and submit the attached Contractor's Qualification form and supporting documents with bid proposals. Moody Blvd., Board Chambers Room, Bunnell, FL 32110 The City of Bunnell reserves the right to select or reject bids on the basis of price considered along with contractor's experience, location, reputation and other qualifications. THE PROJECT IS THE PHASE 1RESTORATION OF THE 1937 WPA COQUINA CITY HALL BUILDING. THE STRUCTURE IS LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. WORK INCLUDES: THE REMOVAL OF THE "VAULT" ADDITION AND ADJACENT ADA CONCRETE RAMP. REGRADE SITE FOR POSITIVE DRAINAGE AWAY FROM BUILDING AND INSTALLATION OF DRAIN BASINS. REMOVE AND REPLACE CONCRETE SIDEWALKS AS REQUIRED TO INSTALL DRAIN BASINS - SEE C-1. * CLEANING, REPAIR, AND REPOINTING OF BUILDING EXTERIOR COQUINA SURFACES AT AREAS DISTURBED BY RECORD VAULT AND ADA RAMP REMOVAL. * INSTALLATION OF NEW WINDOWS IN OPENINGS CREATED BY REMOVAL OF VAULT BUILDING AND REPLACEMENT OF NEW COQUINA STONE BELOW NEW WINDOWS. GREAT CARE SHALL BE TAKEN TO NOT DAMAGE THE COQUINA BLOCK, WHICH IS EXPOSED BOTH ON THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR WALLS The Historic Bunnell Coquina City Hall is used for community events and business conferences. Phase 1 restoration project includes demolition of the modern record vault room and relocation of the record vault door; regrading of site and installation of Nyloplast inlet drains; installation of new windows in openings created by removal of the record vault building, restoration of the original wood side doors and transoms; and structural repairs in the crawl space. This important National Register property was built in 1936-37 as a (WPA) Federal Public Works project. The one-story coquina masonry building was constructed to serve as the City Hall and Community Center for the town of Bunnell, Florida located Flagler County. The success of this project will preserve and protect this building for future generations and not only benefits the City of Bunnell but also contributes to Florida's architectural heritage. The City of Bunnell has tremendous pride in the building's history, masonry craftmanship and design.
