Renovation of a mixed-use development in Key Biscayne, Florida. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; and 6,650-square-foot swimming pool.

The Village of Key Biscayne ("Village") has issued an Invitation to Bid ("ITB") to interested and qualified businesses to receive sealed Bids ("Bids") for the following services/project: COMMUNITY POOL IMPROVEMENTS. Work includes furnishing of all labor, equipment, materials, and performing all operations to construct the proposed improvements including, but not limited to, the replacement of the concrete pool deck, replacement of the interior pool finish, replacement of the underwater lights, installation of depth markers and required signage, and all ancillary work associated with those items. The proposed improvements associated with this project are further described in the Contract Documents that consist of the Technical Specifications and the Contract Drawings. The pool is located at the Key Biscayne Community Center, 10 Village Green Way, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. The information used in this Invitation to Bid ("ITB") will be used by the Village to make its determination. The Village intends to award a contract to the selected Contractor for the Project provided in this ITB. The Project must be completed within 45 days. The swimming pool measures 25 yards, has six (6) lanes, and is approximately 23 meters deep (132,000 gallons). The surface area of the pool deck is approximately 6,650 sq. ft. All specifications must be verified by bidder prior to submitting a Response. This project may be funded in whole or in part with federal funds. Additional terms and conditions apply. Interested businesses may obtain the full ITB and all associated documents through the Procurement Portal. Interested businesses will be asked to register prior to downloading the ITB documents. Registration is free and easy and can be done in minutes. It is strongly encouraged that interested businesses include any commodity codes for the services or products it offers as the Village uses these codes to send notice of relevant solicitation opportunities. Any questions related to registration may be directed to procurement@keybiscayne.fl.gov. Any and all questions or requests for information or clarification pertaining to this ITB must be made in writing via email to procurement@keybiscayne.fl.gov by no later than May 27, 2022. 1. The Contractor is responsible for visiting the project site and familiarizing himself with the existing project conditions and project requirements prior to submitting his bid. 2. The work shall involve a full closure of the aquatic facilities, but the rest of the park shall remain open and as such, the contractor shall cause minimal disruption outside the pool area and the work shall be performed in an expedited, highly coordinated manner by the Contractor. 3. Remove and dispose of debris from the demolition immediately. Concrete decking shall be restored per the requirements of the construction documents. 4. The Contractor will provide approved traffic control necessary to accomplish all elements of the Work. It is assumed that the contractor shall be given a portion of the existing parking lot for staging of materials and equipment during construction. The Contractor will be responsible for furnishing, providing, implementing, installing and maintaining all approved maintenance of traffic (MOT) signage and barricades, as well as pedestrian and security fencing, that conform to all Village standards to protect that area. The Contractor shall prepare staging and safety plans and obtain permits for the work from the Village of Key Biscayne. 5. The Contractor shall notify the Village for any service interruption during the work. Notification shall be given at least 5 days in advance. No service shutdown will be scheduled on Mondays or before Village-observed holidays. 6. Restore all areas altered as a result of the execution of the project that impact the rest of the Park. Replace Village-owned items that are disturbed and/or damaged during execution of the Work, including but not limited to, landscaping, hedging, fencing and irrigation. Remove and dispose of all items that are disturbed and cannot be restored to its pre-existing condition. 7. Be responsible for compliance with applicable Village Requirements and ordinances (noise, construction hours, dust control, permit requirements, etc.).
