It is the intent of the Danville Public Schools (DPS) to award a contract for the Replacement of two (2) Trane Air conditioning split systems one (1) 15 ton and one (1) 4 ton unit's, at Taylor Virtual Academy, 825 Piney Forest Rd, Danville, VA. As a result of issuing this Request for Proposal. The right is reserved to reject any and all proposals, and to waive any informality in RFPs. The successful proposer shall demonstrate the ability to design and install Bi-Polar Ionization Units with the requirements specified in the RFP. Direct all questions to Walter Lucas, Director of Construction, by email (wlucas @mail.dps.k12.va.us) no later than ten (10) business days before bid date (June 20, 2022). All questions and answers will be forwarded to all bidders. SCOPE of WORK The Danville Public School System is requesting a cost proposal for all modification, labor and materials to replace a 15 ton Trane and a 4 ton Trane split systems (including AHU's) located at 825 Piney Forest Rd in the City of Danville. All work is to comply with current Virginia Statewide Building Codes. Split systems (including AHU's) are to be capable of performing needed air conditioning requirements for school located at 825 Piney Forest Rd. Split Systems Requirements: o Contractor is to pump down and dispose of existing refrigerant in accordance with state and local laws. o Remove and dispose of existing split systems units, including corresponding air handler units. o New units are to be a minimum of 15 tons and 4 tons. o New unit's compressor is to use newest type of refrigerant on the market. o Replace IWave Air Ionization Units matching existing in new air handler units. o New unit's controls are to be compatible and connected to existing Trane Tracer Ensemble System. o New units are to be started up, set and balanced in accordance to manufacturer's requirements. o Contractor is responsible for any alteration and modifications to existing piping, ductwork and electrical.
