The "Work" is generally described as demolition, proper removal of, and proper disposal of (hereafter collectively referred to as "demolition") the building footings and foundations, concrete slabs, structural framing, exterior and interior walls and partitions, flooring systems. This includes demolition of metal decking, concrete masonry, brick veneer, roofing systems, doors, and windows; all mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, elevator, commercial kitchen and electrical equipment and systems; disconnection and capping of existing utilities; asphalt pavement, curbing, sidewalks, steps and railings, pedestrian bridges, swimming pool. This also includes installation and removal of temporary erosion and sediment control measures; provision of backfill and topsoil to include grading and permanent seeding; and other associated and required work. The scope of this work does not include abatement of asbestos containing material. Asbestos abatement is currently being performed under a separate contract, and the bidder should assume that structures to be demolished under this scope will be certified free and clear of asbestos (by others) prior to general demolition.
