Renovation of a mixed-use development in North Plainfield, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center; library; and museum.

As of October 7, 2022 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on October 24, 2022. The contract Scope of Work will include three (3) buildings in the Borough Vermeule Mansion, the Vermeule Community Center, and the North Plainfield Memorial Library. The Project includes interior improvements and HVAC system upgrades to toilet rooms, public areas, and meeting spaces. The contract will allow one hundred twenty (120) calendar days for completion of the work from the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed will be issued on or about September 16, 2022. Proposals shall be made on the forms provided and made part of the Contract Documents, which shall be submitted intact. A certified check or cashiers check made payable to the order of the Borough of North Plainfield, or a duly executed Bid Bond, in the amount of ten percent of each bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 must be deposited by the Bidder together with a Surety Consent evidencing that he can obtain the required Performance Bond. The successful Bidder shall be required to comply with requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, and deliver to the Borough an executed Performance Bond of a responsible indemnity company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Borough of North Plainfield reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities in the Proposal received and to accept the Proposal which is in the best interest of the Borough. Proposals must be placed in sealed envelopes and delivered to the Municipal Clerk, Borough of North Plainfield in the Municipal Building, 263 Somerset Street, North Plainfield, New Jersey 07060, clearly marked Minor Toilet Room Improvements, Vermeule Mansion, Vermeule Community Center, and North Plainfield Memorial Library with the name and address of the Bidder marked clearly on the outside of the envelope. Payment for Contract Documents shall be by money order, or certified check only and shall be made payable to: CTS GROUP Architecture/Planning, PA. Contract documents cannot be purchased through the mail. CTS GROUP Architecture/Planning, PA will not be held responsible for contract documents purchased via courier service.
