1. Mobilization: - Trail system maintenance in the Castle / Pincher area will typically require a dedicated crew working a 40 hour week. There may be instances where specific trail needs may require a modified schedule and camping at remote sites. Sign installations will be at a number of locations throughout the system. As regular maintenance is key a circuitous route will be required from mid to late May through mid-September. 2. Castle / Pincher scope - Please see Attachment 4, which identifies the trail systems in question. Please note that signage installation locations will be provided at the start up meeting and throughout the summer. Further note that most work will take place in or between mountainous terrains. 3. Documentation - Weekly reports regarding progress will be required. In the case of a reported trail hazard, Parks contract manager will update the contractor as soon as possible. The contractor will provide Parks with a summary report at the conclusion of the contract. 4. Geographic area - All non-motorized trails for maintenance work, including tree clearing, mowing, etc. will occur within Castle Provincial Park and Wildland Provincial Park, as identified on our Summer Map 2022. Beauvais Lake Provincial Parks' trails will also be to be included. Signage Installation - Syncline Trail Network Maintenance and Wayfinding Signage is a top priority. Signage installation for wayfinding will be required on a number of identified trails. Proper signage installation and Alberta One-Call will be required. Signage cannot be affixed to trees. A priority list will be provided once the contract is awarded. The objective of this project is two-fold: one, the timely removal of trail hazards and trail repair to reduce the risk of injury to users; two, the installation of informational signage along the trail system in the SW area of Alberta Parks.
