Site work for a road / highway in Duncan, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Due to an Atmospheric River event in November 2021, two sections of The Cowichan Valley Trail (CVT) experienced culvert failures resulting in trail washouts. One washout is located near the intersection of Paldi Road and Westwood Road in Duncan, BC. The second washout is located near 7750 Cowichan Lake Road, Cowichan Lake, BC. (See Maps below). Both washouts are approximately 15m in width, of varying depth, and both have exposed Telus fiber optic conduits (see photos in Appendix G). The CVRD engaged McElhanney for the design of new culverts, trail repairs, and associated infrastructure for both sites. The CVRD is requesting proposals for all works required to dispose of existing culverts, supply and install new culverts, and complete all trail repairs in accordance with the specifications contained in the attached drawings in Appendix H prepared by McElhanney.
