The Town of Rice Lake is accepting sealed bids for the following road work for 23rd Street between 21st Avenue and 22nd Avenue (1 mile), 22 feet wide: Bid #1: 1 1/4 " high dense base gravel: 3 inches thick to be delivered and spread on site, and bid on a per ton basis. Bid #2: Pulverize: existing pavement following addition of 3" of 1 1/4 " gravel All work to be completed by September 15, 2022. Failure to meet the deadline will result in a $200 per day penalty until work is completed. Direct all other inquiries to Town Chairman, Dean Borofka, at 715-296-6258. Bids must include certificate of insurance for liability and workers compensation, along with the town's safety training survey. The Town of Rice Lake reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to accept the bid proposal deemed most advantageous. INTENT: The Town of Rice Lake is requesting Competitive Sealed Proposals from qualified firms interested in contracting with the Town to provide tree removal services for the removal and clean-up, including stump removal, of approximately 195 trees located within the town's road right-of-way on both the north and south side of 18% Avenue going east from 19% Street. The location is illustrated on the aerial map that is an attachment to this document. Note: It is the Town's intent to select a contractor for the project that will, in the Town's sole determination, provide the best tree removal proposal at the least cost. SCOPE OF WORK: Tree and Stump Removal - The contractor will be responsible for cutting down trees, grinding all stumps, chipping branches, proper removal and disposal of all tree trunks, large branches, stumps, brush and wood chips while assuming all costs to transport and properly dispose of all demolition debris. The entire stump should be ground, and the opening filled with compacted earth. Approved material shall be placed as backfill in all excavated areas and graded to the elevation necessary to provide positive surface drainage to all areas of the site.
