Description: The purpose of this project is to improve water quality in Lake George by stabilizing eroding lakeshore and installing vegetated buffers that filter storm water runoff. Project components include: o Construction at six residential properties that are not contiguous, totaling 456 linear feet of shoreline. Construction includes grading, rock rip rap, erosion control, vegetated buffers, and other methods. o Construction includes (1) 109 LF of rip rap, (2) 151.6 LF of bioengineered shoreline stabilization with vegetated buffer, and (3) 195.8 LF of shoreline treated with only a vegetated buffer. o Major components include 61.0 CY of excavation, disposal, and grading; 99.8 TON of class III field stone rip rap; 220 LF of coconut fiber biologs; 309.8 SQ FT of erosion control blanket; 30.1 CY of mulch; and 1,214 plants. All projects are on the shoreline of Lake George in the City of Oak Grove, Anoka County, Minnesota.
