As of September 28, 2022, the project has been awarded to Sports Contractors Unlimited LLC for $1,591,479.90. The work generally consists of demolition, site grading, relocation of existing fence, drainage improvements, and installation of synthetic turf located at the East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) Scooba campus. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all labor, equipment and materials required by the specifications and/or the drawings referred to therein. The Contract Time is 120 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be assessed in the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for the first 10 calendar days and One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) thereafter for each calendar day the Work has not achieved Substantial Completion. Special Damages In addition to the amounts provided for liquidated damages, the Contractor, in the event of such default, shall pay the Owner the actual costs reasonably incurred by Owner for baseball programming impacts and engineering and inspection forces employed on the work after the time stipulated for completion of the work. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a Bid Bond or Certified Check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of his bid, payable to EMCC, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. EMCC hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. EMCC reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein.
