PURPOSE: The Virginia Department of Transportation (herein referred to as "VDOT"), is soliciting bids from qualified firms to provide all equipment, labor, tools, and transportation necessary to perform on-call, as needed patching operations on primary and secondary routes in Buchanan County within the Lebanon Residency of the Bristol District in accordance with the specifications contained herein. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The contract term will be from date of award through one year (renewable) QUESTIONS REGARDING THIS INVITATION FOR BID Any questions regarding this Invitation for Bids shall be addressed to Chelsa Taylor, chelsa.taylor@vdot.virginia.gov. The issuing office shall determine whether any addendum should be issued as a result of questions or other matters raised. Provide questions no later than five days prior to the close date. SCOPE OF WORK: The Contractor shall provide equipment with experienced operators, labor, on-site supervision, certified flaggers, fuel, traffic control (including Portable Temporary Rumble Strips), transportation (mobilization), tools, materials, supplies, and incidentals as necessary for performing paving and flexible pavement planing on various primary and secondary routes in Buchanan County on an asneeded basis. Work shall include removing deteriorated pavement, disposal of unsuitable materials, cleaning the area, applying tack coat as required, and repairing with the appropriate asphalt plant mixes. This will include short sections of the roadway, shoulders, and other special paving projects not to exceed 500 feet of continuous paving. All work performed under this contract shall be under the direction of the Contract Administrator or designee. For each assignment, the Contractor shall be required to report within five (5) working days after notification and furnish the equipment and service requested by VDOT.
