Project Description: 1. Complete surface preparation and painting of the exteriors of the houses at 176 High Street (Honors House), 333 Prospect street (CCE), and parts of 291 Prospect Street (Grant House) for various project substrates as noted in the drawings and specifications. Colors and sheen to match existing. 2. Houses are presumed to have lead paint. Paint coming off the houses must be handled by approved workmen as required for the abatement of lead paint. Submission of the proper certification of the workmen must be submitted prior to the start of the work. Summary of Work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. All exterior surfaces of the houses at 176 High Street (Honors House), 333 Prospect street (CCE), and parts of exterior surfaces of 291 Prospect Street (Grant House) are to be prepared and painted. Remove and dispose of the existing paint as if it is contaminated with lead. Provide clean and dry substrates satisfactory to the paint manufacturer for all materials at all locations. Identify and caulk all open joints or seams. 2. Colors must match the existing. Prior to painting provide samples of each color on actual substrates (or reasonable substitute) for the approval of the Owner and Architect. 3. Clean exposed stone stairs. 4. Make like new all existing conditions disturbed during the execution of this work. This bid is restricted to State of Connecticut Registered and Certified Small and Minority Owned Businesses. The plan must be filed within fifteen days after a bid has been accepted by the awarding agency. The awarding authority reserves the right to waive technical defects or to reject any and all bids.
