The following provides the quantity and chemical description of chemicals the City intends to purchase with this bid. Quantity Chemical Description All chemicals are to be NSF 60 unless noted 200 Wet Ton Alum, Liquid, 48% Strength 325 Wet Tons Caustic, Liquid, 25% Solution (125 Wet Tons to WTP & 200 Wet Tons to WWTP) 6.0 Wet Tons Fluoride at 23% to 26%, 55 Gallon Drums 13,000 Gallons Chlorine Bleach, 16% 8.0 Tons Supersacks of Carbon 500 lbs. or larger 26 Tons Supersacks of Lime 800 lbs. or larger 4,000 Lbs. (55lb. Pails) Potassium Permanganate (CAIROX) 3,500 Gallons Phosphate- 300-gallon totes. See phosphate specification below. The product must be a high-density liquid blended phosphate The product shall be formulated to reduce corrosion in iron and copper lines, prevent leaching of lead from lines and fixtures and stabilize metals in water. The product must sequester iron and manganese. The product must not increase distribution system chlorine demand. The product will be a blend of orthophosphate and polyphosphate. Phosphate Chemical Specifications: Total PO4 required: 36% as PO4 Polyphosphate Content Required: 7.5% as PO4 Orthophosphate Content Required: 28.5% as PO4 Suppliers must submit their product recommendation, feed rate recommendation along with analysis supporting their recommendations. The product will be NSF certified against Standard 60 Drinking Water. A copy of the NSF listing must be included in the bid submittal. The City of Emporia reserves the right to reject any or all bids or accept any bid in part or in the entirety. The City shall award this bid to the successful vendor via purchase order and the City considers the purchase order as a contract between the City and the vendor.
