District #1 Velma Linford Elementary School - Mechanical System: Equipment Upgrades, Control Upgrades, and Airflow Quality Monitoring and Laramie Middle School - Mechanical System: Filtration Upgrades, Control Upgrades, and Airflow Quality Monitoring Services Requested: Albany County School District #1 (ACSD1) is seeking to engage a firm to provide professional design and construction administration services to upgrade the existing mechanical systems at the above-mentioned locations and to include, in general, equipment upgrades, and/or filtration upgrades, control upgrades, and airflow quality and radon monitoring. The General Scope for each school is as follows: Velma Linford Elementary School Install new DOAS system to serve fresh air to each classroom to meet current code requirements. Convert pneumatic system to DDC, replacing all valves and dampers, installing new front end, and connecting to ACSD1 Central Monitoring Station. Add monitoring to air handlers for CO2 and VOC, add Radon monitoring. Laramie Middle School Add MERV-13 minimum filters to each air handler. Increase efficiency of unit ventilator filtration to highest allowable while maintaining performance. Convert pneumatic system to DDC for the air handlers, installing new front end, and connecting to ACSD1 Central Monitoring Station. Note, VAV system and unit heaters will still be pneumatic. Add monitoring to air handlers for CO2 and VOC, add Radon monitoring. Additional components may need to be replaced for complete modernization of HVAC systems upon recommendation by proposing consultant. For the purposes of this RFP, services will be conducted in four phases for EACH School: 1. Current system evaluation a. Evaluate systems b. Recommend course for control system and component replacement c. Submit a report of findings 2. System design a. Control system design b. Component replacement design c. Technical specifications d. Technical drawings e. Integration of MEP design as required 3. Bid (the work at EACH school shall be bid separately, two separate projects or one project with two separate bid schedules) a. Answer engineering questions during bid process b. Prepare addendums c. Review substitution requests d. Aid in evaluation of bid proposals 4. Construction Phase: Construction Season 2022 a. Answer and respond to all requests for information b. Review all submittals c. Two site visits during construction d.
