Description of WORK. The proposed WORK is officially known as the 54th Street Water Main is further described as furnishing and installing approximately 2535 linear feet of 10-inch SDR-21 PVC watermain, 115 feet of Auger bore and jack, 10-inch Yelowmine SDR-21 with 18-inch diameter steel casing, 310 linear feet of Horizontal direction drill 10-inch diameter Yelomine watermain with associated valves, fittings, pipes, and surface restoration. Method of Payment will be monthly based upon approved pay requests. 5. Instruction to Bidders. Rejection of Bids. The OWNER(S) reserves the right to waive technicalities or to reject any or all proposals as provided in Division 1, Section 2-6 and 2-12 of the "Standard Specifications for Water and Sewer Construction in Illinois," July 2020, 8th Edition. 7. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the opening Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract. 8. BIDDERS ARE NOTIFIED that the successful bidder will be required to pay not less than the prevailing rate of wages for workmen engaged on the work in accordance with provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Illinois entitled "Act Regulating the Wages of Laborers, Mechanics, and other Workmen Employed in any Public Works, by the State, County, City of Any Public Body, and Any Political Subdivision, or anyone under contract for Public Works", Approved July 11, 1957.
