The St. Johns County Utility Department (SJCUD) owns and maintains eight (8) wastewater treatment facilities, over four hundred (400) lift stations, and over 200 STEP Tanks within St. Johns County. The area maintained by the SJCUD is approximately twenty-two (22) miles long by twenty (20) miles wide. This solicitation includes hauling and disposal of liquid biosolids for scheduled, unscheduled, and storm events (Hurricanes or Major nor' easters). The County intends to award a continuing service contract to one (1) or more Contractors. The Contractor shall be available for the duration of the contract. This means the Contractor must be available to the County, at any time during which the County may require hauling services, especially during inclement weather such as hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, or other events such as utility outages, sabotage, and any other abnormal or as needed situations which creates the need for the Contractor to perform Biosolids hauling. The Contractor shall have a staffed office during regular business hours with emergency/storm service available 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week via staffed answering service or other live contacts. Applicable after-hours staff or answering service will need to be available to respond to emergency/storm situations within the 90-minute time limit stipulated by this contract. St. Johns County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids/proposals, waive minor informalities, or award the bid/proposal which best serves the interests of St. Johns County.
