The work, in general, to be done under this contract consists of grind and overlay on East Avenue west of State Route (SR) 99 to the Esplanade, and full-depth reclamation (FDR) on East Avenue east of SR 99 to Cohasset Road. Work also includes installation of storm drain facilities, streetlights, a pedestrian hybrid beacon at the intersection of Airport Bike Path and East Avenue, curb ramps, sidewalk improvements, minor landscaping, striping, and signage. The sealed envelope enclosing the bid submittal shall be clearly marked with 2023 Road Rehabilitation #307-000-8800/50492-307-4150, and the date and hour for opening of bids. No prebid outreach meeting will be held ENGINEERS ESTIMATE The Engineers Estimate for this Contract is; $2,540,000 (Base Bid) $250,000 (Additive Alternate) The Project has 65 Working Days Each bid must be accompanied by cash, cashier check, certified check, or a bidder bond executed by an admitted surety insurer made payable to the City of Chico for an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount, such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. The Contractor shall furnish a performance bond in an amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contractor price as a security for the faithful performance of this Contract and a payment bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) At the time the City awards the contract for this project, the Contractor shall possess either a Class A Contractor License or a combination of classes required by the categories and types of work included in this contract. This contract is subject to state contract nondiscrimination and compliance requirements pursuant to Government Code, Section 12990.
