The Gary Sanitary District (GSD) is inviting qualified bidders to submit sealed bid proposals for goods and services specified in Contract Documents for Sodium Hypochlorite. The GSD Board meeting is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM local time. Any questions regarding the Contract Documents and/or requests to visit the project site should be directed to Rhonda Anderson at rhonda@garysan.co .The project includes goods and services relative to the procurement and delivery of 15% sodium hypochlorite to be used for the disinfection of plant effluent flow prior to discharge into the Grand Calumet River. Disinfection must reduce the concentration of E. coli bacteria to levels that are in compliance with the NPDES permit. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check on a solvent bank or trust company, drawn to the order of the Gary Sanitary District, or an acceptable Bid Bond, in an amount of not less than five per cent (5%) of the total bid. This sum guarantees that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. The complete set of forms as specified in the Contract Documents must be returned in its entirety in a sealed envelope along with the appropriate Bid Bond, Certified Check, or Cashier's Check to the Gary Sanitary District. The sealed envelope should be clearly marked on the outside: SEALED BID: SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE The award of the contract will be made by GSD to the responsible bidder submitting the lowest responsive bid which is in the best interest of GSD.
