The work to be performed includes: construction of a booster pump station at the City's existing West Pasco Water Treatment Plant site to pump up to 18 MGD into the system, with additional provisions for future expansion. The project also includes installation of electrical, control system, and backup power upgrades at the West Pasco Water Treatment Plant, two new pumps at the City's West Pasco Intake Pumping Station, and electrical and control system improvements at the City's West Pasco Intake Pumping Station. Each bid proposal shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier's check, postal money order, or surety bond in an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the amount of such bid proposal. Checks shall be made payable to the City of Pasco. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance and payment bond within the time stated in the Specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Pasco. Bid Security shall be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, bid bond, or money order made payable to the 'City of Pasco' in the amount of equal to at least five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid. Security deposited by an unsuccessful bidder will be returned as soon as practicable after the bid opening. The City of Pasco hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into, pursuant to this advertisement, minority and women's business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to the invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin, or sex in consideration for an award.
