Provide engineering services to include design, bidding, construction administration and project closeout for the new construction of 3 buildings for swine research and production at Tidewater Research Station, Plymouth, NC. The new research facility will have new infrastructure for breeding and gestation (11,000sq ft), farrowing (8,800sq ft) and biosecurity services (2,000sq ft) with division standards, ADA compliance, fire alarm and code compliance. Architectural, structural, mechanical, and civil engineering services will be required. The production houses will be required to have a pit manure system that is integrated into the existing waste lagoon permitted at a capacity of 298,000 lbs. steady state live weight of swine. A consultant specializing in the design of modern swine production/research type facilities will be required to be approved by the owner before a design proposal will be executed.
