DMLSS # RP 2100001 This is a Design-Build Project This project will replace original construction concrete cooling tower structure with dual fans. The replacement tower design shall support the changing services for Bayne Jones Army Community Hospital (BJACH), B285 with a multiple cell tower providing continuous run ability and maintainability. All supply and return piping from existing tower shall be removed and replaced to a point identified inside the Central Utility Plant (CUP), B289. The new cooling tower should be a three-cell induced draft, crossflow type, factory assembled, film fill, industrial duty, stainless steel cooling tower. Towers will need to be equipped with new two-way, two position motor actuated inlet control valve to enable staging and lead/lag tower cycling. These valves will need to be controlled by the BAS. The condenser water system shall be equipped with new centrifugal pumps and connected to the common condenser water pump piping circuit provided with motor actuated shutoff valves at cooling tower inlet to enable the lead/lag selection of condenser water pumps and cooling tower cells. A motor actuated modulating two-way bypass control valve shall be provided in the condenser water circuit to prevent excessive cooling tower fan cycling and low condenser water sump temperatures. The condenser water sumps shall be equipped with an electronic wave-guide radar type automatic make-up water level controller with motor actuated sump make-up water control valve. The existing condenser water return piping circuit is provided with automatic blowdown control valve. All valves shall communicate current condition and controlled by the Building Automation System (BAS) system. Magnitude of Construction - $1M - $5M Prevailing Wages Apply.
