The Deer Creek Stewardship project area is ~299 acres of majority lodgepole pine for removal. The project area is located in Park County, Colorado within the boundaries of the Pike National Forest in the South Platte Ranger District. The purpose and need for this project is to restore the vegetation closer to historical conditions, and to reduce the risk of high-intensity wildfires by treating ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, lodgepole pine, and aspen ecosystems within a Wildland Urban Interface (WUI).
