Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; office development; office development; 4,587-square-foot office development; and office development.

A. This Section includes the following: 1. Work covered by the Contract Documents. 2. Type of the Contract. 3. Use of premises. 4. Owner's occupancy requirements. 5. Specification formats and conventions. 6. Work Restrictions. 7. Miscellaneous Provisions. B. Related Sections include the following: 1. Division 01 Section Work Restrictions for provisions relating to use of premises. 2. Division 01 Section Temporary Facilities and Controls for limitations and procedures governing temporary use of Owners facilities. 3. Division 01 Section Construction Waste Management. The project includes the relocation of an existing 20 station computer lab within the library. The existing area of the computer lab will be used to increase the size of a flexible space classroom. Restroom grab bar upgrades throughout the building is also included. This project consists of interior work (with the exception of minor demo work to the mechanical equipment on the roof). Demo of existing cafe to construct a new coffee bar as well as student success offices. Demo of interior wall between two small conference rooms and one door to create one larger room. Some tile removal and carpet installation, new lighting, new reception area and new furniture will be added to the existing lobby area. Interior Remodel: Includes demolition, carpentry, sound insulation, caulking, HM frames, wood doors, hardware, glazing, steel studs, drywall, acoustical ceilings, tile carpeting, painting, signage, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, access controls Construction Constraints: Construction will be in the main lobby of an occupied and busy building. Access will need to be maintained to adjacent auditoriums, stairs, and hallway. The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University.
