The University of California, Merced is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from architecture firms with extensive design & renovation experience in University library, archival spaces & museum facilities submit written statements of qualifications for full architectural, engineering and specialty consulting through the design, construction, and close-out phase of the proposed project. The Leo and Dottie Kolligian Library building was completed in 2005. The Library Archive expansion project includes the renovation and expansion of the existing archive space within the 4th floor of the library. The project will encompass roughly 6,000 sq ft of the 1003,000 sq ft Library and has a 2-year time frame to complete the project with a completion date of July 2024. The project will create a secure storage for archives and special collections, public reading room for researcher use and renovate an existing conference room into an instructional space. The modifications to the archive space will need to include security, environmental control and lighting modification that will meet the archival storage requirements.
