The City of Des Moines, Iowa, (City) is hereby soliciting consultant proposals for professional services to perform a structural evaluation report and design services for the Fleur Drive over Raccoon River Bridge Rehabilitation project. This request invites qualified Consultants to submit proposals for accomplishments of the items of work described below under Scope of Services. Proposals shall be prepared and submitted in accordance with the requirements described in this Request for Proposals (RFP). Once the Consultant is selected, a contract will be negotiated based on a mutually agreed upon scope of services. Rehabilitation of Fleur Drive over Raccoon River Bridge (FHWA No. 003910). Professional services under this RFP include performing a Structural Evaluation to investigate current condition, document the progression of deterioration since past repairs, development of a detailed load rating and alternatives analysis to alter controlling end spans, reconfigure deck geometry to accommodate at least one 12-foot-wide shared-use trail, and provide plans and specifications for the bridge rehabilitation project. Iowa Department of Transportation funding is expected to be used for construction with a preliminary budget of $3,500,000 and a target Iowa DOT letting Fall/Winter 2024.
