following work: OR202 (West Marine Drive/Olney Avenue) Watermain Replacement Project PROJECT DESCRIPTION The intent of this contract is to replace the existing watermain in OR202 (West Marine Drive/Olney Avenue) between Alameda Avenue and 5th Street with a new HDPE watermain. The project is planned to be completed before a subsequent Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) roadway improvement project in the same location. OR202 is an ODOT facility. The following is a summary of the major elements of Work that are to be provided by the Contractor. 1. Construction of 2,140 LF of 10-inch diameter DR11 HDPE watermain 2. Replacement of new water services 3. Installation of new fire hydrants 4. Abandonment and removal of portions of existing watermain 5. Restoration of existing Portland cement concrete and asphaltic concrete surfaces 6. Temporary traffic control 7. Erosion control Project Substantial Completion shall be 60 days from Notice to Proceed and Project Final Completion shall be 90 days from Notice to Proceed. A project site tour will follow the pre-bid meeting. Bids will be accepted only from bidders attending the pre-bid meeting. If a bid is submitted by a contractor having not attended the pre-bid meeting, it will not be accepted and will be returned unopened. Any bids received after the above specified time will not be considered. The carrier, including the United States Postal Service, is considered an agent of the bidder. If the total bid exceeds $50,000.00 the contract will be subject to Prevailing Wage Statute ORS 279C.800 to 279C.870. The contract is NOT subject to federal prevailing wage rates under the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 3141 et seq). Prequalification of bidders is required. Prequalification applications must be received at the above location no less than seven (7) calendar days prior to bid opening. Required minimum prequalification class(es) of work for the Contractor (or Contractor in combination with proposed subcontractor(s)) for this contract are: o Earthwork o Asphaltic Concrete Paving o Cement Concrete Paving o Curbs and Sidewalks o Water Lines Prior to submission of its bid, bidder shall be registered with the Oregon Construction Contractor's Board as required by ORS 701.055, and thereafter comply with the requirements of ORS 701.035 to 701.055. Bidders shall be qualified in accordance with the applicable parts of ORS 279C in order to submit a bid for public works in Oregon.
