Project was awarded to Francis O. Day Co., Inc. in the amount of $1,779,334.88. The MDOT SHA hereby notifies all bidders that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority/ disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this notice and will not be subjected to discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, sexual identity, genetic information or disability in consideration for an award. Minority/ Disadvantaged business enterprises are encouraged to respond to this solicitation. On Federally assisted projects, the bidder's attention is called to the Standard Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Construction Contract Specifications (Executive Order 11246) which is a part of the contract proposal. All of these activities shall be done in accordance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, as amended. It is the goal of MDOT SHA that Disadvantaged and/or Minority Business Enterprises participate in all Federal Aid and State contracts, as applicable. Each contract will contain a specific participation goal. This project, located in Calvert County, is for the construction of resurfacing, safety improvements, and ADA improvements on MD 261 (Bayside Road). Beginning at the Intersection of Chesapeake Village Boulevard and MD 261 and extending in a Northerly direction to First Street for a total distance 1.79 miles. The work will consist of the following: (a) Fine milling and resurfacing the existing pavement; (b) Replacing traffic barrier w-beam and end treatments to meet current standards; (c) Upgrading existing sidewalk ramps and driveways to achieve ADA compliance; (d) Relocating existing signs to accommodate ADA improvements; (e) Installing new crosswalks to accommodate ADA improvements; (f) Full Depth Pavement Reconstruction; and (g) Drainage improvements, pipe and inlet cleaning. A Pre Bid Conference will not be held for this project. Minimum wage rates for each Project, if applicable, have been pre-determined by law and are set forth in the Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids must only be made upon the latest electronic proposal forms (and attachments) that are furnished by the Administration. In accordance with State Finance and Procurement Title 13 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, no bid, performance or payment bonds are required for bids less than $100,000.00. However, bids $100,000.00 and above will not be considered unless a Bid Security is submitted as outlined in the Invitation for Bids. Bid Security shall equal at least five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. Also, the successful bidder will be required to supply Payment and Performance Bonds for all Contracts in excess of $100,000.00.
