The project consists of one area of 15 feet by 35 feet in size for replacement of concrete. The actual square footage will be determined just prior to construction start for each area based on square foot unit prices for that specific area. The concrete slabs vary between 12 inches and 16 inches thick. Some areas have rebar. The site operates 363 days a year, so each repair area needs to be completed within the time constraints described for that area. The entire site surface is in use during normal operations. All vehicles and equipment will be staged off site until the work window starts. The trucking company that transports waste for Metro leases a parking lot adjacent to the site. Parking is available by arrangement with the trucking company, Walsh Trucking. The Metro Project Manager can help facilitate this contact with Walsh. Transport Scale Repair: The Transport Scale will be shut down from Friday at 5:00pm until Monday morning at 5:00am The Transport Scale area of approximately 525 square feet shall be demolished and new concrete poured in one effort lasting a maximum of 12 hours. Saw cutting and concrete removal can begin at 5pm on a Friday. Dowels must be drilled and installed overnight so new quick setting concrete can be poured the next morning, Saturday. Any subgrade repairs must be completed in time to allow the Saturday morning pour. All bids must conform to the ITB format and be complete including the use of any required forms. Metro may accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part, or waive irregularities not affecting substantial rights if such action is deemed in the public interest.
