Renovation of a municipal facility in Tukwila, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 19,280-square-foot municipal facility.
The 600 Building was built in 1979 and is a two (2) story concrete office building. The roof system is an 18 TJI with a 3/4 plywood sheathing under a 1-1/2 concrete topping. The elevator services a second floor and is primarily for accommodating ADA requirements. The 600 Building is located in Tukwila, WA, and houses KCHA administrative staff. The scope of work for project site includes all work related to refurbishing the existing cab, including, but not limited to, new door hardware, call button, elevator controls, fan, interior finishes, and interior lighting; removal and replacement of elevator jack and liner, piston and hydraulic equipment, soft lines, hydraulic, and all electronic controls in the cab, hallways and equipment room. Contractor will also convert the hydraulics from a petroleum base to a vegetable oil base; remove, replace and update (if necessary) the fire alarm control panel and phone line; seal and waterproof the pit floor, close off shaft vent, install new DHP for equipment cooling and add an additional sprinkler head to the machine room. It is up to the Contractor to inspect the elevator casing and check diameter to ensure it will be adequate for the new liner and jack and to include any code related fire blocking/fire rated insulation CENTRAL OFFICE 600 BLDG.: 600 ANDOVER PARK WEST, TUKWILA, WA 98188 NORTHWOOD: 18127 73rd AVE.
