The replaced trestle and offloading platform is intended to be used for future dredge material offloading operations. Work under this firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated to include the following tasks: o Mobilize to the Saginaw CDF; o Demolish the existing trestle and offloading platform at the Saginaw CDF in its entirety, including the existing driven piles to pile tip depth; o Dispose of all materials and debris associated with the existing structure; o Produce and provide as-built drawings for the new replacement structure; o Drive piles for the new replacement structure with a level of accuracy that allows the designed bolted connections to be properly aligned and connected, without any need for field alterations to address pile misalignment; o Construct the new replacement structure safely and efficiently resulting in a structure which performs as intended by design engineers; and o Demobilize from the site when all work is complete. The Saginaw River Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) is in Saginaw Bay, Lake Huron, adjacent to the Federal Navigation Project, about two miles from the mouth of the Saginaw River. The diked area encompasses Channel and Shelter Islands which were previously formed from maintenance dredging and deepening material which was removed from the adjoining Federal Navigation Project. Trestle G and the associated Offload platform are located on the West side of the CDF. There is a need to have proven experience with placing H-Piles from a barge, in wet conditions with accurate precision. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
