The City of Newnan is releasing this Request for Qualifications to identify experienced on-call tree removal contractors interested in supporting the successful clearing of downed trees and other related vegetative debris on real properties within the FEMA approved storm path from the March 2021 Tornado event. On March 26th, 2021, the City of Newnan was struck by an EF-4 tornado with wind speeds up to 170mph, the event left a path of destruction to buildings and properties that is still affecting the community to date. Many property owners find themselves unable to clear their properties of downed/dead vegetation either because of financial or physical barriers. This debris can create a public nuisance as well as potential environmental and/or public health problems to the property owners, adjacent properties and City of Newnan residents.
