Renovation of a library in Lynchburg, Virginia. Working plans call for the renovation of a library.
Construct improvements to the existing main library to better adapt to the changing needs of the library system. Changes will accommodate future uses, differing technologies, and remedy deficiencies in the current structure and finishes. Reimagination of the library via reconfiguration of spaces within the existing footprint of the structure. HVAC work, IT/tech upgrades, plumbing re-work, flooring, furnishings, ceilings, etc. Project is included City of Lynchburg - Procurement FY 2025-2029 Capital Improvement Plan. As of October 22, 2025, the funding for this project has been appropriated; bidding documents are underway. Bidding is expected to take place Q1 2025 with construction following Q2 or Q3. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
