The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to obtain bids from qualified applicants to provide preventative maintenance and repair services on various City elevators and lifts throughout the City of Lynchburg, Virginia. The City reserves the right, at its option, to conduct on-site inspections of any bidder's facilities prior to award. The results of any such inspection will be considered by the City in determining bidder's capabilities of successfully administering the contract. Only when specifically requested in the bid documents shall each bid be accompanied by a bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City or a Cashier's or a Certified Check, made payable to the City of Lynchburg. In the event of default by the Bidder, the deposit shall be and represent liquidated damages to the City. Bids received without a bid bond, when specifically requested, shall be rejected.
