Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Newark, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
This project would fund the construction phase of the installation of median landscape improvements and completion of sidewalk improvements on Thornton Avenue between the western terminus of the Central Avenue Overcrossing Project and Willow Street. The project would also seek to install landscape improvements and edge treatment along the fence line in the area adjacent to the Alameda County Flood Control Channel near Filbert Street. As of June 6, 2025, this project is unfunded. It is included in the City of Newark's FY 2024-2026 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). A timeline for construction has not been determined. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
