Estimated project cost: $75,000. The City of Dowagiac has received grant funding through the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) to assist property owners, within the city, with repairs to their homes in an effort to increase a homes curb appeal to enhance the entire neighborhood. These include a variety of projects such as painting, window replacement, door replacement, driveway repairs, roof repairs, etc. The following pages contain and overview of the projects that have been selected for this years grant funding. The City has worked with the property owners to develop a list of improvements that would benefit their home the most. Due to the limits on funds available the city is requesting a quote for each portion of the project to be listed individually. Contractors do not have to bid on every project to be considered. Quotes can be provided on the attached quote form or your own, but please state the quote is valid for 45 days. If you wish to pass on a project, please put a slash through the quote line. All replacement material should blend with current colors & styles unless otherwise noted. All quotes must state they are valid for 45 days. Alternative proposals for work listed will be considered but must be discussed with city staff before submitting. All contractors must be licensed to work in the State of Michigan. The pictures are provided for reference only and all contractors are encouraged to visit each site. A contact name and number have been included should you need to access the property. The city will be required to use the lowest quotation for each project. Due to the limits on funds available, the city many not award portions of projects at certain addresses to ensure those limits are met. Contractors will be notified by August 12, 2022 of any projects in which they were the lowest quote. The City will work with the contractors and homeowners to coordinate work.
