The Scope of Work Includes: Resurfacing Improvements to Crystal Lake Road. The Contractor shall be a current Prequalified Contractor with the Georgia Department of Transportation, Office of Contract Administration or shall be approved in writing by the Irwin County Board of Commissioners prior to bids being opened. A copy of the Contractors Notice of Contractor Qualification as issued by the Georgia Department of Transportation or a copy of an approval letter from the Irwin County Board of Commissioners must be submitted with the bid. All proposals shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond in favor of Irwin County in the amount of at least five percent (5%) of the lump sum bid for the complete work: such Bid Bond representing that the Bidder, if awarded a Contract, will promptly enter into a Contract and furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bonds as provided by the law and approved by the Attorney for Irwin County. Performance Bond shall be equal to 100 Percent (100%) of the contract amount and Payment Bond shall be equal to 100 percent (100%) of the Contract amount. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Irwin County, Georgia as liquidated damages if the Bidder fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the Contract. The Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications, 2021 Edition, applicable Supplemental Specifications, 2016 Edition and any Special Provisions or other provision contained within this contract will be applicable to this project. All materials, workmanship, testing, etc. shall meet the Georgia Department of Transportation Specifications. The Owner reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive informalities, and to accept any Bid which in its opinion may be in the best interest of the Owner. The Owner has the right to add or to delete from the Contract once it has been awarded. No bids shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the opening of the bids.
