The project, which is estimated to cost $208,692, will be done by Christmas, barring any delays, Sanchez said. It's being built on a piece of donated land across from the Plainview Country Club. The land was donated by Gebo's. The golf facility will have state-of-the-art simulators for Plainview ISD golfers to practice their swing off the golf course. It will also include locker rooms, storage space and coaching offices. The outside will be painted green and tan to match the Country Club. Sanchez also noted plans to build a fieldhouse for the soccer and tennis teams by the soccer field. He anticipates the golf facility to be ready by January 2023 while the tennis/soccer fieldhouse will be ready by May 2023. He said he also hopes to start looking at architectural renderings for the event center as early as the spring. Following Monday's meeting, Sanchez said the district hosted the meeting partly in response to the questions district officials have been fielding. "A lot of the questions we were getting - it kind of makes you tired," he said. "People were like 'alright, is this all we're going to get'" He took these meetings as an opportunity to announce the second of three construction phases planned for the district, he noted.
